These Are The Press-On Nails That Professional Nail Artists Use

There isn’t always time for a manicure, but press-on nails are always available. A beautiful press-on can make you feel like you just left a salon. “The press-on nail hack is my all-time favorite when you’re in a rush,” says Stephanie Stone.

How To Choose

“The more natural-looking the nails are, the less likely they need additional shaping,” Mel Shengaris said. Getting a press-on kit with alcohol wipes, nail files, wooden sticks, and glue might be beneficial. This way, you’ll have everything you need for a quick fix. Buy brands you can repeatedly use and customize to fit your hand perfectly, Kait Mosh said. One manicure shouldn’t require five different products.

Achieving A Perfect ‘10’

Carefully reading the instructions is crucial when using press-ons lest you damage or have them pop off randomly, said nail artist Fariha Nizam. “Press-ons can turn into a nuisance if you don’t follow the directions,” she said.

According to Britney Tokyo, you can use glue or sticker adhesives to apply press-ons. Shengaris said how you put them on determines how long they last. “They won’t stay in place as well as glue, but many stay in place pretty well.”

Preparation is key to maintaining your nails. Start with clean, dry nails without oils. Keep that nail steady as the glue dries by pressing it down, squeezing it on, and holding it in place. Stone said to do the harder hand first.

When your nails are dry, treat them as if they’re precious. Taking care of them will extend their life. Mosh recommends staying hydrated and avoiding pools and hot tubs. Press-ons on people who live ordinary lives and do routine chores should be able to last about a week.

Your press-on manicure might last a little longer if you wear gloves as much as possible. Here are a few you can use: Tenx, Scandal, Signet, and Kiss ImPress.
