The Cannabis Tourism Experience

Cannabis tourism offers a wide range of activities and experiences. Hotel rooms with weed-friendly amenities are available at various lodgings, from farm stays to apartment rentals. A Bud and Breakfast host may at least offer housing that allows marijuana use (though perhaps it requires that smoking takes place outside). The platform hosts curate all-inclusive experiences as part of the platform’s “super hosts.” They are like cannabis Wikipedias.

The Rise Of Marijuana-Motivated Travel

The hospitality marketing agency MMGY Global teamed up with Applegarth’s cannabis travel consulting firm, Cultivar Strategies, to research the field’s growth. Cannabis experience motivates 37% of the active leisure travel audience in the United States, up 8% from 2020. Cannabis access is vital to 70% of Gen Z travelers on vacation. It is a highly volatile industry that is less risky if based on marijuana.

The Lingering Controversy

It has been a long journey in understanding and accepting marijuana usage, but stigma persists. In addition to educating people about cannabis, the growing cannabis tourism industry can help reduce its stigma. Marijuana-related offenses are estimated to imprison more than 40,000 Americans. Recent decisions decriminalizing or legalizing marijuana have created even more confusion in countries and regions outside the United States.

Cannabis Tourism’s Future

Although cannabis tourism remains stigmatized and confusing legally, industry experts remain optimistic. Within a few years, cannabis tourism will reach hundreds of billions of dollars. Cannabis use will be controlled through the development of compassionate and rational policies by nations worldwide.
