Explanation
With an adrenaline rush, Diana launched into an explanation, her words tumbling out in a frantic attempt to salvage their situation. She recounted how Roger, in a moment of absentmindedness, had worn the shirt the previous night.
The heat had left him a bit disoriented, leading to a clumsy collision with a countertop that resulted in a small cut on his fragile skin. In her concern for his well-being, Diana had overlooked the stain and forgotten to wash the shirt before the cleaning crew arrived.
