A heavy silence enveloped the room after Roger posed his question, leaving him bewildered by his wife’s unexpected reaction. He had anticipated her excitement, yet her expression betrayed a deeper turmoil.
Confusion knitted Roger’s brow as he struggled to comprehend Diana’s tears. Wasn’t this what they had always dreamed of? Everything they talked about was within reach and budget. So why the sadness?
