A Realization
After polishing off the candy, the boy remained calm for ten minutes. Brad dared to hope that maybe, just maybe, the kid would finally be satisfied. But then, like a cruel joke, the kicking resumed, albeit with less force.
Brad’s eyes snapped open, realization dawning. Was the boy doing it absentmindedly? Maybe it was a habit he couldn’t shake.
As Brad pondered this, a nagging suspicion gnawed at him. There was something more to this than meets the eye. And as the kicks persisted, albeit gentler, Brad knew he had to get to the bottom before his patience ran out completely.
Hungry
The chocolate worked like a charm, keeping the kid from kicking his seat for a decent stretch. Brad couldn’t help but wonder if hunger was the culprit behind the kid’s restlessness. He wouldn’t put it past the neglectful mother to skimp on feeding him properly.
It dawned on Brad that the boy might have been silently struggling, unable to express his needs. Maybe there was more to this whole situation than met the eye.
As he mulled it over, Brad realized many factors could be at play here. It wasn’t just about the kicking—it was about understanding what was happening with the boy and how he could help without overstepping boundaries.
A Condition
As Brad pondered, it struck him that the boy might have had an underlying condition. ADHD crossed his mind—often overlooked in kids—and maybe the mom hadn’t mentioned it.
Perhaps she didn’t buy into the idea, or worse, she condoned the kicking. But then, things took a sudden turn.
Brad’s thoughts raced as he considered the possibilities. If the boy did have ADHD, it could explain a lot. But without confirmation or communication from the mom, he was left guessing. It was a puzzling situation, and Brad grappled with how to navigate it without jumping to conclusions.
