Is Period Underwear Right For Your Kid?

If you have a child who will start menstruating, you’ve probably already begun to consider it. In today’s world, teens and tweens have more options and information than we did when we were their age. Be it being worried about embarrassing leaks or thrilled to experience this rite of passage.

Period underwear is one useful innovation, a major revolution, especially among young people.

They are modest; they resemble regular underwear but have a highly absorbent lining and can contain liquid. They also produce less trash than pads and tampons, which attracts young people concerned about the environmental effects of their lifestyle choices.

Washable And Reusable

Period underwear’s primary drawback is its high price. Of course, a year’s worth of disposable menstruation supplies is not either.

Storing up a stockpile of period underwear can cost significantly more, depending on how many pairs you require each day and how frequently you can wash them.

If your child needs to switch pairs in the middle of the day, they will have to carry a used pair home.

Some young people may not be eager to wash and dry clothing that requires different instructions than their other clothing. And other parents might find that their laundry responsibilities have increased slightly.

There Are Also Other Options.

The first option is often “pads.” They’re simple to explain, and the school nurse has them on standby.

But some teenagers find the discomfort pads. They complain that it feels like they’re wearing diapers or worry that people will see the pad’s imprint through their clothing.

For people with active lifestyles and swimming, tampons, cups, and discs “may be handy.” However, they do require a little bit more knowledge and skill.
