The dark is frequently connected to terrifying things, thanks to ghost stories and horror films. And for many people, especially children, this connection can cause real bedtime anxiety.

It’s called a “prepared fear” to be terrified of the dark.

This indicates that some things are more likely to cause us to become afraid than others.

These anticipated phobias come from things our ancient predecessors would have found frightening, such as heights, spiders, snakes, and the dark.

A gloomy room or a starless night sky may conjure up imagery from spooky movies, and young children may visualize monsters.
