A recent study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism examined the effects on fourteen healthy adults who drank water. Each individual was given sixteen ounces of water that was at room temperature.
Within forty minutes of the participants drinking the room temperature water, they experienced an increase in their metabolism of thirty percent. Researchers concluded from the data that by drinking two liters of water daily, at room temperature, one could increase their body’s energy expenditure.
Many modern, more popular cleanses and detoxes suggest adding a pinch of cayenne pepper to your jug of water to increase your metabolism. However, if spicy water is not your thing, now you can choose to drink water at room temperature to boost your metabolism, which also works to rid the body of toxins.
Research published in the journal of Gastrointestinal Nursing suggests that drinking room temperature water can also ease the problem of constipation. The study involved individuals who had gallbladder surgery and the effects of drinking six-seven ounces of moderate-temperature water. Those that drank the warmer water had a much easier time in the bathroom than those individuals who didn’t drink any water at all.
The studies only served to prove that drinking room temperature water is the key to nudging your metabolism into high gear, which at the same time speeds the burning of fat and the losing of weight. Ditch the ice cubes and refrigerated water bottles, and start drinking warm water instead. You will be glad you did.
