One of the most recognizable faces on one of television’s longest-running shows is leaving. After 15 seasons and more than 300 episodes of playing Abby Sciuto on the CBS crime-drama NCIS, actress Pauley Perrette is leaving the show after the end of the current season.
There has been recent speculation that Perrette was going to leave the show, as well as crazy rumors as to why. The actress took to Twitter Wednesday morning to confirm her exit and discredit some of the wacky rumors.
So it is true that I am leaving NCIS…
There have been all kinds of false rumors as to why (NO I DON'T HAVE A SKIN CARE LINE… pic.twitter.com/gugM2a2ckT

The exact reason why she’s leaving the show remains unclear, but with the decision being made last year, it appears to be an amicable split between Perrette and the show. It also means that her character is likely to get a proper goodbye from the show. Of course, how Abby Sciuto will be written out is unclear and likely to create even more crazy gossip among fans.
With Perrette leaving after this season, actors Mark Harmon and David McCallum will be the only remaining original cast members on NCIS. Of course, the likes of Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Mario Bello, and Emily Wickersham remain part of the cast along with Harmon and McCallum.
The departure of Perrette will hardly mean the end of NCIS. The continues to draw a massive amount of viewers on a regular basis. Hopefully, it won’t mean the end of Perrette’s career either. She hasn’t had many prominent roles outside of NCIS, but fans are no doubt curious as where they will be able to see her next.
